Length and breadth of the head and tail of spermatozoa collected from seminiferous tubules and caput were the same. The length and breadth of head and midpiece were significantly (P < 0.01) more in cauda than in caput. The tail length of spermatozoa steadily decreased at different sites from seminiferous tubules to vas deferens without any significant change in total length of spermatozoa. The percentage of spermatozoa bearing cytoplasmic droplets was maximum in rete testes followed by those in caput, corpus and cauda. The percentage of spermatozoa-bearing cytoplasmic droplet was negligible in vas deferens. A few spermatozoa of caput showed only stationary movement. In corpus both stationary and forward movements existed. In cauda and vas deferens mainly forward movement existed. The sperm motility increased significantly while passing from caput to vas deferens. |
